I wonder why I sat through the whole of it! Simply put, not a movie I enjoyed. The story was so predictable from the very beginning. The script was dull and lacked spontaneity or any hint of imagination.
I mean, come on! The lead character was a teenager trapped inside an adult’s body. Why? Because she was in her late thirties, yet had the elaborate plan of getting back with her high school boyfriend. So, she goes back to her hometown after ages. Not to mention, the former boyfriend is happily married and has just welcomed a baby into the household.
Now Charlize Theron, to her credit, played her role quite well. It was just that the rest of the movie never picked up at all. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ve certainly missed nothing.
