Plain ‘Ol Chocolate Cake

This one is a simple chocolate cake that will turn out just right. Soft and crumbly, with a nice chocolaty taste. The recipe here will make a small cake, so you can always double it to make a larger one. You can also use your favorite frosting, but my guess is that you’ll gobble it up just as it is!
Ingredients:
Flour- 1 cup
Cocoa- ¼ cup
Boiling water- ½ cup
Sugar- ½ cup
Egg- 1
Baking powder- 1/8 tspn
Baking soda- ½ tspn
Salt- 1/8 tspn
Butter- ¼ cup
Vanilla essence- ½ tspn
Method:
1.       Take cocoa in a bowl and pour boiling water over it. Whisk until it is smooth and cooled.
2.       In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
3.       In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add a slightly beaten egg. Then stir in vanilla essence.
4.       Add flour mixture and cocoa alternately.
5.       Pour batter into a prepared baking pan.
6.       Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
